This is a little bit off topic for most GDS activity, but perhaps can provide some value. I’m looking into purchasing a reverse osmosis system for under the kitchen sink. I’ve heard good things from the brand linked below. My question revolves around the added Alkaline feature on this particular filter. I’ve read may things on the benefits of drinking alkaline water, but don’t want to fall victim to “gimmicks” and marketing trends. You pay a little more for this model, to receive the claimed benefit, I just wanted to see if anyone had anything to add on the subject.
Thank you for your time

I’ve come to learn that nothing is considered to be even “….a little bit off topic….” here on GDS, Ronin
reverse osmosis…. only here do I see people starting phrases with.. reverse osmosis…. Why do you want to drink alkaline water?? Alkaline is more corrosive than acid.. and we’re made of acids….(I admit I know nothing about this.. Im half trolling..)
There are many on the interwebs that advocate for the health benefits of Alkaline water. It all seems to stem from the alt-health communities, which always make it hard to filter out the chaff.
When I did my research, I concluded with reverse osmosis I would have to take mineral supplements. I went with Multipure. https://www.multipure.com/
” these systems reduce unwanted chemicals, contaminants, and chlorine out of your drinking water, leaving only cleaner, safer, healthier water.” So they admit that the chlorine isnt a good idea???
