This is NOT good folks. Actions have consequences and this one may carry a heavy burden. CAF recently tweeted that it appears that “impeachment is working”, I’m beginning to think she may be right. Seems TPTB are back to cooking a war.

EXTREMELY dangerous development in the Middle East (UPDATES COMING IN)

    • Killing Soleimani was an extremely stupid move. Extremely stupid. Israel should deploy few extra Iron Dome batteries, as Hezbollah is first to respond.

    • It may be a good idea to top your fuel tanks and cans off this morning. Iran may threaten to close the Strait of Hormuz. At the very least, markets are likely to reflect the tension. Declaring their portion of the Strait a “war zone” would have similar effects on the market. Insurance underwriters would be unlikely to insure cargo through the area. Disruptive intent is to be expected, how/when/where are to be determined.

      • One of the many interesting comments w/in the Saker post linked above:

The big problem is that the real response by Iran might not even matter.

My fear is that the US did chose the place to murder Soleimani very deliberately. To kill him in Baghdad could be part of a very sinister plan.
It is virtually guaranteed that this will spark outrage and plenty of attacks by Iraqis on US troops and installations. Crucially, Iran will not be able to prevent these attacks even if it wanted to.

Those attacks will all be blamed on Iran (the times when the US evenbothered with presenting(fabricating) evidence are long gone) and will serve as pretext for further military strikes by the US/Israel against Iranian targets or directly against targets in Iran. At some point, Iran will then have no choice but to retaliate.
Which will lead to the war that the Israelis have been pressing for all the time and which their lapdog Trump is only too happy to deliver.

    • The question I had when I was reading The Saker’s blog and other stories was the following: Why would Iran allow the supreme commander of their Quds forces to run around Baghdad, with little to no escort and which allows him to be monitored, tracked and then targeted for assassination or murder what ever flavor you want to call it? It makes no sense. Dr. Farrell has stated on several occasions that the Iranians are not stupid people-granted there is a much of looney toons in Tehran-and I do agree with his assessment. Note-and this is all that I have seen-is a picture of a severed hand with the General’s signature ring on it. And although Iran has confirmed that he is deceased, I have to wonder; he is really? Is it better for Iran to have the west think he is? And yes that is some really way past the end of the twig speculation that it has ventured into the Wiley E. Coyote off the cliff realm. Needless to say, taking out the opposing General is verging on an act of war. Sanctions can be considered an act as well, but this is on an entirely different scale. I also have no doubt that the secure phone lines between Tehran, Moscow and Beijing have been burning up all night, along with Turkey, Syria and Iraq. I would also suggest that you read some items from the Moon of Alabama site. The Saker has said that he is ex-German intelligence. https://www.moonofalabama.org/
