I don’t have a subscription but this is good news for the UK if it is true. Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty says No more lockdowns – Britain will treat Covid like flu. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/04/01/no-lockdowns-britain-will-treat-coronavirus-like-flu-says/

Thanks for posting this, after reading the article apparently the headline as usual is deceptive, giving people false hope. And I’ve heard about archive before, I just now learned how to use it, so I will be able to avoid posting things like this in the future. Thanks.

        • April Fool! ?

Yep, they are that sick. Be nice if it was only one day a year to be fooled.

            • Good news if true, but these are the same people who told Britons it was just “two weeks to flatten the curve.” I’m not sure they’ve got much credibility (personally, I can’t understand why anyone would believe a word they say without concrete proof). I hope I’m wrong, but I feel headlines like this just give people false hope.

Like every other announcement of this kind that I’ve heard from the UK gov’t, the speaker is careful to hedge. For instance (from the article, emphasis mine): “However, [Whitty] added: ‘Society will not tolerate more than a certain number of people being ill, even if they know it’s going to go away come the spring, and the area where we’re going to have to pull the alarm cord is if a variant of concern comes in that we can see is now back to a situation of unconstrained growth because the immunological response to it is just not there.’ ” How much you wanna bet, in a few months, the headlines will be all about “variants of concern” that Imperial College modeling predicts “could lead to exponential growth”? Then, of course, they’re back to restrictions till they can tweak the existing vaccines and get the new injections into 20 million people.

And even if they open up more, they’re not going to get rid of masks, antisocial distancing, or immunity passports.

Yeah…. now that I’ve read the article, the headline was well…. “What we’ve demonstrated in the last year is we don’t have to have flu at all if we don’t want to, because the things we’ve done against Covid have led to virtually no influenza.” That pretty much let me know it was a corporate talking point, you know, sounds good, makes no reasonable sense and is an opinion stated as fact. You got rid of the flu really? But not the other flu (covid)…. Wow, these people are arrogant as all hell. Yeah, said this last night in another post, in six months, that “variant” may be people keeling over from their vaccine shots. This is all staged and this article was to give false hope to keep them in check, probably until then.

                • There are signs that some of the oligarchs are seeking and exit strategy: Merkel’s sudden about-face on 23 March, followed by the Austrian sentence ordering the gov’t to abolish any measures based on the PCR test because that test has no diagnostic value; the Brussels Court ordering the cancellation of all restrictive measures; and others. The Suez incident might have been a warning signal by the “hardline khovidians” to European governments that are finding it increasingly difficult to continue the social and economic massacre.

It seems it could go either way at this point. Those implementing these plans may start to get cold feet, and realize they might one day swing at the end of a rope if it all comes to bear. Fanciful wishes at this point, time will tell.
