I heard someone come up with an extremely logical solution. If every CC person entering WhaleMart would register at the door, these cretins might not want to enter with an army of possible defenders. This is an example of why CC is important in this country.
When many if not most Gizars were still in the cradle, I was watching “Africa documentaries” where they would shoot a variety of animals from elephants down with “tranquilizer bullets” , move the creatures that would then wake up in some enclosure to be “observed” by scientists. In these suspicious shootings or alleged shootings worldwide, the alleged culprit is almost always killed (or allegedly killed!) with a firearm. All those handy “tranquilizer guns” seem to be miraculously unavailable. Now in the Texas case someone is actually been taken into custody. But time will tell what happens next.
Same thing happened in another state w/an off duty fire fighter…another whalemart.

The problem with tranquilizer guns in a public order environment is that they are short-range (probably 50 yards max), the darts fly at low velocity and may not penetrate clothing, and the tranquilizing agent may take an unacceptably long time to take effect. In a shooting incident, law enforcement’s objective is to neutralize the threat with certainty, not to preserve the perp for trial. They want either to kill or disable an armed perp, so that the perp’s ability to harm anyone else (law enforcement and passersby) in the vicinity is removed instantly. This is why law enforcement will continue to fire even after it appears that the perp has already been hit – for certainty. A wounded perp can often continue to fire. Unfortunately, a tranquilizer does not provide certainty.
