A genealogy tidbit. French Presidential candidate’s mother, Françoise Macron née Noguès, could be a relative of the famous General Charles Noguès who had a roller-coaster career in the French Colonial Empire in North Africa during WW2, managing to upset all sides from Nazis to De Gaulle, was condemned to death in his absence and returned to France after being pardoned; Both the general and Madame Noguès and the general were born in the same small district in the Pyrenees.
