Can anybody explain to me why the algorithm censor on this site determines what words it doesn’t like and why so. I have tried to respond to someone and wrote a technical explanation on radar and I have a good grasp of the English language and can’t figure out why it says I have used an inappropriate word. I know my spelling leaves a little to be desired but this is very frustrating. I appreciate anyones help or response. Thank you. 🙂

I have NOT a clue Frank
Thank you Sir. i appreciate your response. i will keep trying.
its the word search fonction.. words like ti tle or inst itute get black listed because it has the letter combination for a word meaning breasts.. however.. you can swear away as much as you like in any other language 🙂 If you’re having difficlty finding the ‘offensive word’ press “Ctrl + f” and in the little dialogue box that opens write out the offensive words and it’ll show you if that letter combination is on the page. (its the only way I can post sometimes…)
That’s easy, a variable function that occasionionally includes changing “ordinary” words just to keep us on our toes, and maybe as a way to flag spamming…
Anyway, my view is that we might try not to make life harder for the moderators, trying to maintain an elegant style
Hi Frank, here’s an example of a word that was recently rejected by the censor: ‘Ident-ity’. Why? Take a look at letters 5-7. See what they spell? My workaround is to use hyphens, as I’ve done above. It isn’t the prettiest solution, but at least you can write posts on ‘Identi-ty politics’, ‘David Wilco-ck’ or ‘Voter Hara-ssment’ without running afoul of the machine… 🙂
WOW I learned so much! Thank you all for your responses. The people here are so incredibly wonderful. Problem solved. 🙂
