Tokyo man marries video game character.
I don’t know if I want to cry or want to laugh, this is NOT an isolated case, I have been playing video game for a long time, I wouldn’t claim to be an expert or insider or any sort, however I do take notice which it is a trend for young gamer has similar mentality, and during my game play experience, I also came across many gamer consider a perfect girl or woman should be……. ohhh never mind, I don’t want to go there, honestly I’m extremely worry about our next generation, it does makes me feel how important a parent’s role going to play during such dark time.

    • This reminds me of the stories that came out in the news when the online video “game” / “virtual world” Second Life was popular and new. People were making trades on online real estate, buying built up avatars for ridiculous amounts of money, companies such as Ernst and Young even held virtual career fairs there. It was all quite extraordinary….
The march/transition towards the digital “world” as depicted in the Matrix continues apace.

    • I don’t know!! .. this world gets stranger by the minute .. The Japanese do take their affection with technology rather more seriously than I could have imaged .. What can I say? .. Maid in Japan

      • It wasn’t like that back in lets say 30 to 40 years ago, the Japanese man always give us the Chinese an impression of aggressive, total domination in his own family (in a negative way), we Chinese has a phrase for this type of guy – Big Man Ideology, that ideology not just found in Japanese culture, it was and still is common among the Chinese ourselves, however the Japanese was bring that ideology to the extreme, for example, when the husband came home from work, the wife will bring sleeper to the husband, pouring tea, prepare bath water for the husband while he is eating his dinner etc. That was in reality.

I guess the world changed, the Japanese woman no longer want to be her husband’s attachment only, specially those who receive higher education, they are equally aggressive as the men in term of in professional or career arena. I guess once a man lose his sense of pride, he will rather live in a fantasy world instead of take any responsibilities in reality.
