It wasn’t like that back in lets say 30 to 40 years ago, the Japanese man always give us the Chinese an impression of aggressive, total domination in his own family (in a negative way), we Chinese has a phrase for this type of guy – Big Man Ideology, that ideology not just found in Japanese culture, it was and still is common among the Chinese ourselves, however the Japanese was bring that ideology to the extreme, for example, when the husband came home from work, the wife will bring sleeper to the husband, pouring tea, prepare bath water for the husband while he is eating his dinner etc. That was in reality.

I guess the world changed, the Japanese woman no longer want to be her husband’s attachment only, specially those who receive higher education, they are equally aggressive as the men in term of in professional or career arena. I guess once a man lose his sense of pride, he will rather live in a fantasy world instead of take any responsibilities in reality.
