    I do love when a “conspiracy theory” is proved to be true. This debate has been the subject of books and documentaries since she was lost. Very interesting. Enjoy!

      Off topic on the issue of the Fitzgerald. In examining the damage photos, YT blogger “rufuscat” has remarked on the highly evident rust streaks on the hull. This could be a sign of inadequate maintenance.

        All US Naval ships have rust appearing on them. The ocean salt water causes rust rather quickly. They use static electricity in low volts to negate the rust but nothing but pain seems to work. After painting an aircraft carrier and watching rust as soon as I finished its paints a common happening in all navies. Over the Fitzgerald was in pretty good shape from the photos and i saw no major neglect and only saw damage caused by the collision. She will begin to rust immediatley as she sits and waits repair.
