Just finished my first read-through of ______ and the _____. Much to my surprise, it wasn’t the horrifying mess I thought it was, but it’s still a mess.

If I may aliken the process to creating a painting, you often find that close up it seems messy.. you have to take 3-5 good steps back then, look again. 🙂 But thats for paintings. not books.
Im finishing my first book. It started out to be 325 pages, my editor threw it in a wood chipper. We (I) started “pairing it down.” Advice; Don’t write a book, it can send you to the rubber room. It took me another year to get it down to around 180/200 pages.
BUT HERES what the feeling I share w/ Joseph. I think it’s an utter disaster and makes no sense. Those around me say its good, but I don’t believe them :–). Sigh… I hope it doesn’t suck tooooo bad. Nervous.
