    I find this odd… We have a large deployment of our carriers and amphibious battle groups deployed. Interesting in that the amount of money is being spent right now…

      The strategy behind this may not be military in the narrow sense. Shuffling vessels and men around the globe has a high cost, and we can’t disappoint the contractors for fuel, services and a whole range of material, can we? And then there are all those air links inside and between fleets etc. Researchers have long raised questions as to just who and what those aircraft are shuttling around…

        So true. I just find it unusual to see 5 aircraft carrier battle groups deployed at once and 4 amphibious assault groups also deployed at the same time. If these are the actual areas that they are deployed indicates no apparent threat. None are centered near North Korea, or the middle east. Near but not so near?
