Eh has anybody here read any of Joseph Campbell’ books ??
A few days ago I started his “The Hero with a Thousand Faces” and frankly I can’t read it. And I thought Schwaller de Lubicz was hard to read..I would appreciate any comments because maybe it’s just me.

Unreadable, really? I read that and some of his other works years ago and found them stimulating. Now it would probably be different, since we each have our own “mythos” that changes over time. I’ll try to find it on my shelves and do an experiment.
Thanks for the comments everybody. I may have used the wrong words in saying I couldn’t read it. With some 200 to 300 hundred books under my belt in this field, what I probably should have said is that the book didn’t teach me anything. Sure I know what a myth is, and with respect to Mr. Campbell, myths are the words by the establishment to say they are just made up stories, but we here know better. I’ve read Hamlet’s Mill, and yes it was a slog, but that’s not the point here. Let me say just this, Mr. Campbell’ book seemed to me to be his way of saying, look at or past and learn from it, hope that makes sense.
