This long article raises lots of questions and rightly goes into the issue of the extreme violence of the Japanese occupation. Which raises the question of so many cultural affinities between Japan and Korea which most people in those countries are reluctant to discuss because of the old problem of “losing face”. Anyway this type of article deserves footnoting.
