I stumbled upon an old interview with Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt about the problems with our education system. She wrote a book almost 20 years ago “the deliberate dumbing down of america” which traces the history of public education. She has a website http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com and a free pdf of the book is available. It will take me a while to get through all the material but what I read so far has opened my eyes. I know Dr Farrell is aware of her work. My copy of “Rotten to the Common Core” arrived yesterday and this book is listed in the bibliography. So much to read and ponder.
