This Qatar spat is becoming very strange….. now Chad has closed down the Qatari embassy there. Reason given is that Qatar is stirring up terrorism from Chad’s northern neighbor, Libya:

So then I looked up what could possibly be a “reason” for external interference.
1. Chad seems to be fairly multi-cultural, with different ethnic groups and religions (see Wikipedia for info on this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad)
2. There is some oil – estimated at 1.5 billion barrels (https://www.azomining.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=184). Petronas (of Malaysia), Exxonmobil, and Chevron are involved in its extraction….
And what do you know, Exxonmobil has a long history – 90 years – in Saudi Arabia (https://local.exxonmobil.com/KSA-English/PA/about_who_history.aspx)….
Gee whizz, I wonder who might be “ordering” the expellation of Qatar from Chad? Team-Saudi via Exxonmobil. Or perhaps Exxonmobil is the corporate “partner” in the team-Saudi in its spat with Qatar.
3. And there are some mineral resources – gold, and uranium, among others (https://www.mbendi.com/indy/ming/af/ch/p0005.htm)
You really are starting to think laterally 🙂 What Id like to know is why do we never hear anything about Kazakhstan..?? It commands 22 percent of the worldwide production of Uranium..
If you’re looking at Exxonmobil in the Middle East, check out what they did in Iran, Syria. Pipelines (i fear to say)
aahhh.. Katco in Kazakhstan is owned by Areva in France (They build Nuclear Reactors.. and let reactors leak into rivers.. they got most of Irans recent deal I think…and they’re way over time and budget fro the reactors they are building for the UK)
