    • It´s a huge storm. Could be more bad than Andrew.

      • Buildings and houses are predominantly concrete bunkers already. Won’t be as bad as Houston (Harvey) & New Orleans (Katrina). One of the other issues is that Irene might hit Florida and Huston is still recovering. So all the sex-appeal might go to the east coast if Miami gets hit. The media won’t cover Puerto Rico unless is pretty bad or a slow news cycle.

Rainfall is not going to be much of a problem for a tropical island, is going to deal with the water just fine. Now the PR electric utility might be a problem, the power infrastructure is a little messed up, the morale is pretty low, with all the bankruptcy stuff. They have limited resources and if the hurricane hits Florida there are going to be limited National resources and won’t be able to help.

In Puerto Rico not all of the power lines are buried because it rains all the time. So you can’t bury the power lines, electrical power is going to be an issue. If there are super high winds, we can be talking about minimum two weeks without electricity. Also if Florida gets hit we might be in big huge trouble. In a normal situation Fort Lauderdale is the primary port for bringing supplies into Puerto Rico.

President Trump can lift the Jones Act temporarily to get supplies from Panama, Brazil and get supplies there. They can allow International shippers to go to Puerto Rico for stores like Walmart, Sam’s, Cosco. Unless we get supplies from New York but they are going to Florida first if they get hit.
