To me it seems that Ukraine is important because a large chunk of oil and gas from russia to europe flows through the ukraine. If the us \ anglo empire controls Ukraine via puppetry it would put them in a position to squeeze russia out of the euro energy market forcing russia to look elsewhere. Not sure but I think russian energy companies provides close to 1\4 of all natural gas consumed in europe. But there is probably layers of agendas behind it and probably an arcane one as well.
