    New Arctic passage -> Shipping route that saves time -> Makes more money -> Territorial disputes -> More military spending -> War economy chugs on unabated. This time Canada, Russia and the U.S. are the territory players, China the shipping player. Perhaps the Scandinavias and the U.K. will get involved. Media games and obfuscation sure to follow.

      They have in fact announced satellite coverage of the new routes. They may be rediscovering trains and freighters but they ain’t stupid.
