Puerto Rico got destroyed it needs to be rebuild from scratch. I don’t think the United States has the money for reconstruction.
Long term decisions have to be made. These category 5 hurricanes are the new reality. Construction has to be done differently and the electrical and communication grid has to go underground. We can’t have buildings full of windows either.
If we could increase the amount of traffic in the ports by eliminating the Jones Act, maybe we can be the Singapore of the Region. Some sort of super port.

phew.. luckily for GDS, I just ‘deleted’ the 3 and a half pages of insults(yep I managed at least 600 words of éloquent musings..) I had for America and their Jone’s Act.. Luckily for Puerto Rico, it only took it’s total destruction, unknown loss of life and weeks of human suffering for a piece of legislation to be cancelled because it was killing people. Hurrah Team Murica!! You slimey bunch of imperialistic slave drivers… (darn it slipped out)
