I am reading and can recommend “The Structure of Magic” by Grindler and Bandler, first published 1975. It is perhaps the first book about using NLP for counselling. This is not why I am reading it…. rather I am reading it from the perspective of trying to understand use of NLP techniques for social engineering. When reading the book with this lens, it become fairly easy to see the specifics of how this social engineering might be done.

Thanks @kahlypso, not looking for anything specific, was following up on a members vid chat question where sprachlogiek (spelling?) as a technique was discussed.
I bet Dr Farrell and GeorgeAnn Hughes discussed it at some point in the multi-part, multi-topic ByteShow series, Magic of Social Engineering.
You have to look at cognitive therapy and cognitive behavioral psychotherapies from this perspective. The goal is not self awareness but rather, ‘try this spin on for size.
