I like the bitcoin because of the mobility. I can fly to another country and do a withdrawal. With gold is a bit more complicated. Traveling with a bunch of gold coins is not practical. Although there are some ways around this with gold traders. Mike Maloney and Peter Schiff lives in PR.
You can travel to the United States with a birth certificate and social security identification. It was mentioned on the radio that as a “result of hurricane Maria” if you want a passport the application must be done in the State of Florida. It cannot be done in Puerto Rico.
So just imagine having to travel to Florida to get a passport. And people use passports because not all the travels are to the states. Some people travel to other countries. Spain comes to mind, there are direct flights from Madrid to San Juan. That took a lot of work and negotiation to establish that travel route in Spain.
Why Trump administration did that ? No freaking idea ! Maybe Trump wall to PR. He is sending a lot of messages.
