My view on history has changed so much the last years that it´s crazy. It really does seem that the orthodox doctrines were correct in viewing history as cycles always falling from the higher to the lower and not the other way around. The work of Rene Guenon is very interesting for those who want to look at things from that perspective. In any case, the archeological record really seems to show that the older the structures, the better they are made. The oldest courses of stone in any really old monument is always of superhuman quality and the later layers look like one would expect if contemporary humans gave it a try. The physics needed to engineer stuff is implicit in the principles that were always known to humanity, revealed to all equally in the beginning. Wise humans don´t use technology, which really is akin to black magic, and only at a very late phase in history is it possible for mankind to fall in love with technology, even to the point of confusing it with “progress.”
