Happy 100th birthday, Finland. Im proud of you.
Who remember’s Stalin’s attacks now (except the Finns)
Finns remember it well.
I’m a fan of Jean Sibelius’s music. Finlandia is a stirring patriotic work composed in 1899/1900 in protest against increasing censorship from the Russian Empire. (There are some skips in the video but I wanted to post a Finnish performance.) Sibelius – Finlandia op. 26 (Opening of the new Helsinki music hall) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOSaT6U4e-8 [8:42]
Yes, Finlandia is a very powerful piece of classical music. I love it.
Checked up on Finland’s history last night.. because.. I dont know a lot about it.. Anyone here Finnish??
Wow.. Your civil war was vicious dudes!!! You let more people die from punitive actions after the war ‘ended’ than were killed in the conflict.. Lucky for your national identi ty Russia invaded or the whites and reds would have eaten each other alive..
Im a Finn, I just live in Russia at the moment.
