Thanks Freefall, not so much about the presidential portrait, but the artist’s choice of surroundings which are unsettling in execution and message, the latter being that they represent a sort of “resentful plagiarism” by putting Blacks into classical Western paintings instead of developing settings original to the subject. The style is cartoonish, like a ripped off parody. I do like the VertigoPolitix channel which youtube has been trying unsuccessfully to shut it down and I notice that there are 830 likes and 1 dislike . . .

Being an artist myself and having trained in aesthetics durnig my academemic years.. (no, its not a mispelling..) Id say that this artist is a good example of Poe’s Law. I mean.. when you can get artists using their own blood to make a sculpture of his own head..(damien hirst I think..) or african artists (cant rememeber his name, but he was in the saatchi Saatchi collections..) using elephant dung to paint canvases… Its an unfortunate effect.. no.. the result of R Mutt. On glorification of the artist’s ‘legend’ his/her reputation… I think the film ‘The Doors’ said it best when you see them at an Art show with Andy Warhol..you see a sycophant fluttering over Andy saying.. they could put a picture of Andy on the wall and it would be Art.. yep.. that’s what’s wrong with Art..(and its a continued process put into place for the degradation of western culture..Art has become Ugly.. ergo we create ugly things now.. usually for bankers who call themselves art critics…
Having said all that…It’s clearly evident that the person speaking on this video just doesnt like this artist. he really doesnt like his art, his style nor his ‘statement’.
