In the latter years of the second world war the third Reich had been creating a big gun in France to fire at us. It was counterbalanced with a huge barrel that went deep underground. It couldn’t be moved\aimed as such. I find this a curiosity given their excellence elsewhere. It never worked and the thing just gathered dust. It seems almost Dads army, sticky backed plastic and a coke bottle. There are things that don’t make a great deal of sense about the Reich’s war effort.
