It used to be that city trams ran on electric systems, sometimes by overhead cables and sometimes by electric rails. Some older cities with older infrastructure still have the rails in place.

Carbon neutrality by 2050? Who do they think they’re kidding, the burning of hydrocarbons is already anti-economical and if “they” want transport and heating new technologies will have to be available to the general population.
