As before, my sympathies go to Russia on the Crimea crisis, but the argument “There are some historically Russian zones with Russian culture and traditions which legitimately belong to the Russian Federation” if taken to its logical conclusion can also mean “There are some historically non-Russian zones with non-Russian culture and traditions which legitimately DO NOT belong to the Russian Federation.” And that is true of perhaps 90% of Russian territory, including KALININGRAD enclave which rightfully belonged to Germany historically and together with parts of Western Poland were stolen from Germany. Besides if that argument can be used, then Germany is entitled to take back part of Czech republic, the Alsace-Lorraine perhaps, etc…. My sympathies go to Russia because they were badly treated by the empire when they gave up communism and surrendered to the empire. However, annexing territories nowadays is not a good example for others. Many many other countries have similar claims ….
