this one is good as it lists a lot of great works in the first pages.. (Im looking for them too :)) https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.22660
Sorry Eve I can only search for them in english or french…xx

      • hahahah Thank you Kahlypso, I’m not sure if Jesus could help me find out if there are any connection between Zoroastrian’s war and the War between Devas and Asura in India epic. I know too little about Zoroastrian’s myth, but I suspect some kind of connection.

        • 🙂 Ahhh when you start comparative studies of religion… you start to see…. that they’re all just copying each other…. with some cults having more fervent ergo correct fanatics than others…

          • I suspect their relation more than just copy each other, my suspicious that they may actually had physical high tech war with each other, I could be wrong, but I just can’t get over with the word Asura and Astria, if we remove Zoro from Zoroastrian, and drop N, we have Astria, I just can’t ignore the possibilities it was actually the Zoro had war with the Devas, this could be the reason some underground shelter was built such as the Derinkuyu, it said – “Almost as if they are hidden from their enemy came from above”. If, I only said if, these two fraction was having war, the Devas did driven off the Asura, wouldn’t the Asura civilians might want to hide away from the possible retribution from the Devas?

          • And then there is Ahura Mazda, can this be just merely a coincident?

          • OMG I found another line: Quote: During the Achaemenid Empire (c. 550 – 330 BCE) the prophet, Zoroaster/Zarathustra is not mentioned in the inscriptions of the Achaemenid kings while Ahura Mazda is mentioned in opposition with the daeva. There are no solid links between the teachings of Zoroaster and the Achaemenid kings besides the emphasis on moral behavior. End Quote.

What is that suppose to mean? Who were the daeva?!

          • Quote: Daeva, the Iranian language term, should not be confused with the devas of Indian religions. While the word for the Vedic spirits and the word for the Zoroastrian entities are etymologically related, their function and thematic development is altogether different. The once-widespread notion that the radically different functions of Iranian daeva and Indic deva (and ahura versus asura) represented a prehistoric inversion of roles is no longer followed in 21st century academic discourse (see In comparison with Vedic usage for details End Quote

If there is no link between the two, why there are so much coincident?! If we look at how Indian epic depicted the Asura were demon like entities; The daevas are “gods that are (to be) rejected and divinities that promote chaos and disorder in Zoroastrian tradition, isn’t that obvious enough?

If two different culture warring with each other, they do not demonized their opposition fraction?

            • I have to admit.. my Hinduism is pretty weak.. I need to learn Sanskrit.. From the top of my head.. If I remember correctly.. Deva ends up meaning Shining Ones and Asura are their ‘also divine cousins but not quite enough to be called a Deva..The leader of the ‘good’ Asuras was Varuna.. and I like his sea monster that he rides on looks a lot like the original Krakan description in the Greek legends….. Id say he’s a good candidate for Enki.. however… hang on let me get some notes..

            • In the Avesta’s book of Yashts, verse 13.87 of the Farvardin Yasht as well as the Middle Persian Denkard at 3.35 mention that Mazda, God, was worshipped by the Aryans from the time of the first Aryan king Gaya Maretan
The opening paragraphs of the Avesta’s Farvardin Yasht and the Yasht’s verse 13.150 also tell us that Gaya Maretan and the other Pre-Zoroastrian Mazdayasni were called paoiryo-tkaesha meaning keepers of the original ancient law. (sounds like Adapa to me :))
Zarathushtra was a reformer. His concept of being a Mazdayasni was quite different from previous concepts labelled as ‘Mazdayasni’.
The difference is that if Mazda is the Avestan word for God, saying that the Aryans worshipped Mazda since the time of Gayo Maretan is the same as saying that the Aryans worshipped God (a supreme God) from ancient times.
What I want to know is.. What was Avestan xvarənah?

            • Khvarenah – divine ‘destiny’ get a glowy halo around your head…

            • Varuna and his weird Sea Monster Elephant/Crocodile thing.. … (Enki liked Chimeras as well…) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5a/Varuna_makara.jpg/585px-Varuna_makara.jpg
Perseus and Kraken as owned by de Medicis, (who were CRAZY about Perseus) https://ferrebeekeeper.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/perseus.jpg

            • today I learned.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makara_(Hindu_mythology) Means Sea Dragon….This Varuna guy was Enki..

            • Now all I need is the in dept study of the relationship between Ahura Mazda and the Daeva; as well as Varuna and Deva.

            • Quote: Deva ends up meaning Shining Ones and Asura are their ‘also divine cousins but not quite enough to be called a Deva End Quote.

Quote: The daevas are “gods that are (to be) rejected and divinities that promote chaos and disorder End Quote.

To me, it only means, I say this directly in your face: “I’m better than you for I’m more divine than you”. Your reply to me:” No! You are not even good enough call divine.” So we fight.
