Related to “Microcosm and Medium”. In the classic “In Search of the Miraculous” by P.D. Ouspensky, a distillation of Gurdjieff’s teachings by the Russian philosopher, there are detailed sections on the significance of musical octaves, for example how variants in wave forms impact on day to day events in the microcosm.

I’ve been trying to get through that book for a while now, it’s a tough one to get a grip on, at least for me.
In the “lighter”tales of “Meetings with Remarkable Men” by G. there is frequent mention of music and dancing; the film of the same name shows a “challenge” between master musicians somewhere in Central Asia. If we “translate” the discussions of octaves and harmonics in the “Search” into more contemporary parlance (G. uses deliberately odd terminology like his “hydrogen” etc.) there is truly a lot to be gleaned.
