My life has been full of loneliness and depression. Life is supposed to filled with joy and friends. I feel like a ghost.

Gabe, you have friends here in Giza.
I sympathize Gabe. I know that getting out, walking, and a little bit of casual interaction with others outside yourself help with the depression and build confidence. And you have Gizar support here . . . there’s also the forum area for more interaction.
Don’t despair… Like Margaret said, you have friends… smile, and wave… and the other things…
Gabe .. try this .. It works for me .. Rise early .. listen to the birds calling to the rising dawn .. Hold your arms up towards the sky .. see the clouds .. feel the breeze and know that a new day has been created JUST for you .. Breathe .. take it all in .. Embrace it with gratitude .. The present ..It is a gift ..There is still SO much beauty .. Then call a friend .. make eggs on toast .. a hot coffee and talk .. talk about anything and everything .. You have kindred spirits here .. My journey has cost me EVERYTHING but I won’t let it take me down .. Seek the good .. seek the beauty .. seek the love ..
Gabe, sorry you feel like this. Sometimes to connect with people listening to what they have to say and responding to them emotionally helps to connect with people…sometimes it’s hard to do that if you have a voice in your head that is louder, I used to feel like that somewhat too. If you are over analytical, it can potentially be that your gaba verses your glutamate ratio is off. Taking a calming supplement like valerian or gaba itself may help you to feel more you and garner those connections you deserve in life.
We love you Gabe, press on Brother!! I truly appreciate your vulnerability, that is a great place to start when beginning that climb out of the pit of despair. You have friends here, never forget!! Personally speaking from similar times in my life, I truly know that these moments are meant to not only teach, and grow you, but to allow you to relate to those in similar circumstances. Press on Brother, and never forget, we support, and love you!!
Thanks for the support and advice. I will follow the advice. It’s so hard and painful to keep on living.
Anytime my Friend!! I truly believe there is no weight added to our shoulders that we are not able to bear (though it certainly helps if others can help with that burden:), and the heavier the weight, the greater the opportunity for triumphant Glory!! And by Glory, I mean not in the selfish sense, but in the human sense, that your newfound Glory will be a pillar of Hope to those who are placed in your path under similar circumstances. Give thanks for your burden, Brother ( as opposite as that might sound), reach out to those in need in your immediate proximity. I’ve found the easiest way to relieve my ” spiritually condemning enemies” is to care for your fellow man, giving them everything that you are now in need of (i.e., Love, Compassion, Generosity, Friendship, Understanding, Listening, Serving). This mindset will not only bring you out of despair my Brother, but it will surely help in bringing your Brothers and Sisters up and out of the pit as well. God Bless you Gabe!! Keep reaching out, for there are certainly those who will reach back!! Talk to ya soon..
I’ll offer another plug for sunshine (approx 20 minutes minimum daily for fair-skinned individuals up to 2 hours for those with darker skin), for making vitamin D, which is too low in many, in case that is helpful. Some supplement (usually D3), too, and sometimes significantly higher than the U.S. RDA (this helps me to do for a few days when I feel illness coming on), but it is a vitamin that can accumulate, so I would recommend some research or medical (edit: or healthcare) guidance before going there.
