Tidbit. Italy too may have “missing money”. As the government moves to increase transparency in government Former Finance Minister Padoan has called for State Secrecy status on 30 billion euros in “derivatives losses” under his tenure. Most derivatives are so complex that they are the ideal way to make funds disappear. Let’s see where this goes.

One would imagine that if just a slight amount of digging were done a “shocking” (you have to love Captain Louis Renault) fact might “come to hand”. The “shocking” fact would be that the vast majority of countries (regardless of “world” label) have “missing” money. I think it safe to include this fact on the list of presuppositions one has about the world and its governance.
As to “where this will go” … unfortunately as is seemingly always the case … it will go nowhere in the sense that you, I, and many others wish. The “where’ always seems to be one or two people end up deceased under “unusual circumstances” and there it ends. Sad yes, but usually true
