If I was a deep-stater pressed to explain this, I would say that the building had always been secretly wired with controlled demolition explosives for safety reasons. In the event of some attack that compromised the structural integrity, it would be necessary to bring the building straight down with no prep time to prevent the greater loss of life and property caused by the Trade center keeling over into Manhattan. The intelligence agencies will spin the heck out of it. Maybe they’ll even come out looking like the good guys and try to get egg on all our faces. It’s their job, after all.
