I’ve been having trouble finding sources on ancient Persian alchemy.
I’ve always wanted to look deeper into the legends of “lost” alchemy. @kahlypso sent this article my way a little while back.
thanks for that tidbit
Hi @Gabe .. Good luck. Most texts were destroyed. Start by searching for KIMIA which is what the persians called Al-Khemi (the Way of Black in Egyptian…..) Most Islamic alchemists had honorifics that translate to ‘.. of the Fish’… Which makes me think of fish Apkallu.. but its probably only me thats chuckling to himself..anyhoo… If you’re looking for alchemy texts existant today from the Persian Empire try looking for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pahlavi_scripts
thanks Kahlypso
you’re welcome Gabe 🙂 Here – this is what you’re looking for.. Kitab al-ma’ al-waraqi wal-ard an-najmyah (that’s the name of the book :)) No I havent found it ‘online’… English version is called Silvery Water and the Starry Earth…
I havent found any Annunaki Alchemy texts written by the hand of EN/KI or Ningishzida himself… but Im still looking.. Parsi is an language isolate.. that in itself in that area is very interesting..
Check out archive.org they have alot of old literature. Here is the link to the site https://archive.org/index.php
ha ha ha.. That made me laugh. Thanks Gabe, I’ve been trolling archive.org for several years now. It’s great for getting all the archeological texts from before 1940’s when Rockefeller’s raped the education system and made everyone stupid. However they have little to no Parsi texts (havent been digitized) You’ll find some great works about Malek Taus as well..If there are any texts written by the hands of EN.KI or Ningishzida, then they’ll be in what’s called Mosul today. Or they might no t be there anymore seeing as it’s been an active warzone ever since Wooley dug up Ur…(one has to wonder why…)
Hi Gabe. There is the Corpus Jabirianam commissioned by Jabir ibn Hayyan. No copies available though in uk
thanks Katie
