People want a reality show where ‘Flat Earthers search for the Edge of the world’… I think there should be a reality show where on one side are the flat earthers and hollow earthers on the other….. and see what happens.. Maybe they could combine forces and agree on a pita shaped earth?

Sorry to be the idiot here but I am slowly starting to fall into the flat earther category. There are enough questions not answered by the sphere, speed of rotation, observable anomalies and distances that are making me investigate why I accepted the numbers without question in the past. Weird that you should post this now… I didn’t have my questions to Dr. Farrell composed well enough to submit them for last night’s vid chat… Hmmmm.
Having spent a good portion of my life in the military, I probably have certain experiences that the general public don’t. Calling in artillery from over the horizon is one of those skill sets that come to mind. Also radio wave probagation to shoot an azimuth and bounce a signal off the ionosphere to an over the horizon location also come to mind.
I’ve had back and forth conversations on social media with FE people and have never quite understood their mathematics for calculating the curvature of the earth. To me, no disrespect, it seems like “common core mathematics” at work.
Lunar phases, eclipses, constellations (Northern vs. Southern), etc., are all things that come to mind.
I have personally viewed Saturn and Mars via some high end telescopes within a local astrology club.
If you lean towards FE, I suggest linking up with a local club and personally whiteness spherical planets rotating on their axis.
I appreciate your response. It isn’t as if I didn’t take astronomy in college and have the opportunity to look through telescopes, but it is the logic that some of the “facts” do seem a bit bizarre once I start to evaluate them, rather than simply memorize them per our education system standard. I am clearly not at the convinced stage but I will continue to try to understand how people become so completely engrossed in the concept. In an age when everything seems to be a lie, then it is hard not to at least consider new concepts (to me) with an open mind.
I understand where you’re coming from. Reality truly is stranger than fiction, and there is a lot of “noise” out there. I noticed in rushing to replay above, I clumsily typed “astrology” instead of the intended, “astronomy”. Haha
The FE model, as I understand it, fails to take in account night/daylight in regards to the spherical earth model. I have been all over the world in the past 10years, and in doing so, I’ve had the luxury of Skype Video. While talking to my friends and loved ones, the time zones model correctly with the sunset/rise. I have yet to see a valid counter argument from the FE crowd.
Most importantly, who benefits from this elaborate hoax? Countless people would have to be in on the scam and for what purpose? Usually we tend to follow the money in elaborate schemes, I cant seem to pick up a trail.
justawhoaman, go back to The Cosmic War, on pgs. 100-104, where Dr. Farrell covers this “flat earth” business, by reviewing “Hamlet’s Mill” and what the ancient texts meant by “flat earth”….hope this helps.

Absolutely the biggest, number one negative, for sure!
I had this same conversation recently with a close friend that was convinced by the FE “thing” .. He asked my opinion .. My response was .. “They” present a rather sophisticated and compelling yarn but even if this was indeed a fact (and count me out) .. how is this going to change a thing in my reality .. I will still be 61 .. I will still have my 2 cats .. my rickety old house .. my comfy bed surrounded by my books and pot plants .. I will still have my gorgeous son, grand children and wonderful friends .. I will still shop and drive my car .. The sun will rise in the morning and set in the evenings .. as it always has .. And time will continue its inevitable march forward .. I don’t care what shape the planet is .. it WON’T change a SINGLE thing in MY reality .. So they find the end of the world .. Then what? …………… THAT put an END to his dilemma ..
Another strange coincidence that goes along with the FE is the disputed “age” of the planet. There are still those who believe the planet is roughly 7000 years old…
Then there is the “hollow” Earth…
The gullibility of some people is beyond understanding.
Just how long were those first seven days of creation?
I find that the logic behind Flat Earth to be as convincing and well thought out as Dark Matter. ie

If any Flat Earther can explain to me why water drains down a sink in one direction in the NORTHERN hemisphere “” “”… and in the opposite direction in the “SOUTHERN” hemisphere… whilst being on the same plane of dimension.. and for that matter… Why cant you see Polaris from the SOUTHERN”” hemisphere if the Earth if FLAT?
I’m afraid “logic” and “science” are foreign concepts to these people.
I understand that they’re basing their premises on ancient cosmologies.. and you’ll hear about the sun setting in the wrong direction.. Im pretty sure my fellow Gizars (we ought to tm that..) have noticed my penchant for Sumeria and Egypt.. They thought the Earth was flat.. Greek Cosmology also… Nothing.. Chaos.. Gaia and flat earth averywhere before the titans get freed from Kronos and start making rivers and hills and (isnt it weird.. half of the titans are named after things.. mountains.. sea.. etc.. and the other half after emotions or concepts.. force.. strength.. etc..) But… we’ve made a little progress since then.. and anyone using a level spirit to prove the earth is flat….That’s it? That’s the best they have?
We’re on a globe that is spinning. Otherwise we have no ionosphere and we’re all dead. End of argument because Flat earthers are all dead by their own logic.. I wonder what Flat Earthers think radiation is…
Here is the problem, Kahlypso…. it DOESN’T drain in different directions. THAT is a myth. Sometimes it drains one way and some times the other. Ionosphere could also exist in the FE model as it IS electromagnetism that operates the world since gravity is one of those theories not quite explained fully. I think you need to look at the FE arguments more fully. I have tried to find the best explanations possible and I guess that is why I am still scratching my head because I know some fairly bright people who are on board. I am still in the gathering information mode and haven’t completely ruled it out.
