ecretary of State John Kerry in Antarctica speaking to the scientists and workers in McMurdo Station’s cafeteria. It was interesting hearing him speak to a small group of scientists rather than giving a typical canned political speech. This was broadcast on our closed circuit TV for those of us that couldn’t get in to see him. Kerry is the highest ranking US official to visit Antarctica. To my knowledge this hasn’t been broadcast anywhere outside of McMurdo Station. The minor edits you see in the video are three second gaps that occur when my Canon Elph camera stops to process 10 minute blocks of video. Other than that I recorded Kerry’s speech in it’s entirety. I did edit out a bit of the NSF Polar Director’s intro because it ran a bit long. Kerry spoke at length about climate change, the long struggle to make advancements in environmental policy in the face of changing political tides, and he made references to Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump without actually mentioning either name or the election.
Ok.. So 5:52 (https://youtu.be/FlC7Q9xS78k?t=352) His head was spinning with cosmic….(??) and magma events??
Thanks I missed this one. With all those ahs and uhms he is trying to be careful what he says, or he is just inarticulate.
Yes.. he’s known as being an inarticulate man.. He gets one of those ‘ahs’ out just at the end of this video.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJsJjYwYOAA
