The article doesn’t say very much. What’s up with these “gold caches”? Now the gold may come from various trafficking operations (remember Turkey’s purchase of “caliphate” oil): but 50 TONS??? Could it be some Iraqi state reserves? If US-sponsored ISIS “plundered” or received the alleged gold, is this end-of-contract payback? And is the Army operating some sort of reserve bank operation, and if so, on whose behalf?
