Does anyone have any book recommendations on meditation?
“The Science of Self Realization: His Devine Grace” by A.C Bhaktivedenta Swami Prabhupada. “Discourse on Method and Meditations on First Philosophy”. Your supposed to suppose to read the meditation before you meditate. Decorate was curious to see if doing that would have the same effect on others as it did on him.
It depends what school of meditation you are interested in. I recommend St Teresa of Avila” Interior Castle ” and St John of the Cross “Dark Night of the Soul”
… and also by what you understand “meditation” to mean.
great point… basically, in this regard, I’m looking to find literature that expounds upon expanding one’s consciousness, but done so without the help of a spirit guide. I’ve done “amateur” meditation regarding personal memories, ideas, emotions, etc., but I can’t help but sense that many (in the West) have polluted (for lack of a better word) this practice. I’m really looking for clarity and conciseness on the subject. I would love to hear what you understand meditation to mean…
Please keep this open forum, as I am also interested in this topic.
Not that it directly applies to this topic, but sort of intersects, I just finished watching the documentary “Third Eye Spies.” I can’t recommend it enough. WOW! Hopefully I don’t muddy the conversation with this comment.
I read up on the documentary, that looks interesting, I’m going to find some time for that one. With all this… I’m looking more for the “physics” of the meditative process. I feel like it’s becoming harder to think/meditate (I wonder if this is due to the societal incoherence festering within the Medium of Intellect and/or the “meme-warfare” taking place within the Medium?) Simplistically for me, meditation is generally an analogue process of clarity, intense imagination, clarity. For example, I would love to know what/where my neurons, and the like, are specifically doing/going during that process, and how they’re interacting with the local environment (i.e., quantum tunneling)…
