Interesting. I found the movie Ex Machina beyond creepy.
That said, having rescued two hummingbirds from shock that would have meant certain death, there’s nothing like holding one of those flighty critters in your hand. They weigh nothing. One was caught in a spider web. He was exhausted when I found him right before dawn. Had to perform delicate surgery on his little wings with a toothpick to get that sticky web out before he could fly again. Since they’re territorial it wasn’t surprising he came back to gas up at the feeder. It was surprising for him to hover about a foot from my face afterward as if to say thanks.
