A hypothesis. Theresa “Treason” May set out (or was instructed) to destroy the Conservative Party before internal opposition to the Berlin-Brussels-Frankfurt austerity-obsessed axis could come to fruition. After she (presumably!) resigns formally on Friday June 7th as promised, it remains to be seen whether the sense of self-preservation among members of Parliament from all the parties prevents them from triggering an early election in the next few months. Triggering such an election – more hypothesizing here – might be just what May’s “handlers” want, since the ensuring chaos would be a fine occasion for making the country’s politics even more opaque, as well as for reaping huge profits on currency and other speculations.

Last moments of visibility for Mrs. May as she accompanies the Queen greeting the heads of State and Government for D-Day anniversary events.
@Dana, Did you catch all those precise handshakes on the knuckles? DJT got a twofer…know what it means?
She tries to avoid having her tiny old hands crushed by dozens of alpha-male powershakes in succession.
I always find these occasions, usually dismissed as “merely formal”, to be full of little nuggets. The sight of the (presumably) outgoing Prime Minister playing lady-in-waiting to the Queen is especially hilarious. (Yes, I know that is what “protocol” demands…).
To me, “merely formal” implies ritual. I can’t elaborate, but my intuition tells me that Trump’s State Visit, May’s resignation and Brexit are all components of a major ritual, an inflection point.
Talk about silly hats and boring suits .. I always wonder what exactly is in those handbags .. Cocaine .. porn .. fresh under wear .. tarot cards .. incontinence pads .. telescopic broomsticks .. who knows .. The sky’s the limit because there is one thing I do know for sure .. it ain’t cash or credit cards .. Yes! .. It IS a long long way to Tipperary .. sighhh ..
