As the UK (presumably) heads towards Brexit there has been a suggestion that the “proroguing” of Parliament could be used. This is a temporary closure of Parliament, which formerly took place before the MPs had a long holiday. As this link mentions, in recent decades it has been done with just a few days intervall before the reopening of a new “session”, often with a State Opening. As referenced on another page of the same parliament website, it was used by Blair in 1998 to push through a controversial financial services bill.

    • closure of parliament…..probably using ground radar to uncover the last hiding places of PIE’s stashes of Cheesy Pizza…They’re all perverts and qu eers in the house of lords..Its almost been a pre requisite since the Victorian days…not many noble families left now in UK.
