A good summary of the current status of Brexit talks.
This is a very selective -almost revisionist- interpretation of the Brexit process so far. The *Backstop* exists because of the UK Govt’s attempt to placate the DUP, look as if it was doing something and stay in power.
Boris Johnson believes in precisely nothing. He’s said as much himself. He voted *for* the Backstop. His strategy now is to promise everything to everybody. Someone is going to end up being disappointed.
His current -super- position is devised by Dominic Cummings. Cummings would burn your house down. deny it was on fire then blame you for setting fire to it as he called the police. All with a a straight face.

It doesn’t matter what he believes in. He will certainly try to avoid being one of the shortest-lived PMs in history.
It’s kinda relevant to the content of the video. It presupposes that Johnson believes in Brexit or that his negotiation plan differs from Theresa May. He’s taken a stance on it and he’s interested in it only as far as he can use it to stay in power.
We’ve come a long way haven’t we? when a Prime Minister can be negotiating on behalf of the UK and we can say that “It doesn’t matter what he believes”

Universe is strange, there have been many occasions when apparently clueless persons have acted as “vehicles” for something useful. NB I have no scrying glass and am not making any predictions for what will happen tomorrow, much less October 31st!
As Johnson meets with France’s Macron the day after having met with Germany’s Merkel. Both of whom have said publicly before and to his face right now that the *Irish Back-stop* isn’t up for renegotiation.
Here’s a link to an article which is only 3 weeks old. of the Clown Prince himself posturing in the UK press saying he refuses to meet with both of them unless they agree to ditch it –

We’ve had almost 3 years of this tripe. The Tories are a busted flush. Meaningless soundbites and collapsing policies.
