It was announced that there was no terror link before they had entered the assailant’s home. From the beginning they were printing statements without sources saying it was a crime of passion. Then the announcement that the person was not an immigrant, was a Swiss citizen, and had a typical Swiss name. But they would not release his name or a photo from his government identification. Also, these days I wonder what a typical Swiss name would be, and if the individual had converted to Islam and taken an Arabic name that would take time to investigate. I do not know how to express it better, but it seemed that an approach had been taken to do everything possible to disassociate the crime from terrorism before a proper police investigation could be completed.
