Brexit: Macron did not go through with his threat to veto an extension, which would have been anathema to Merkel. But this is hardly surprising, since the “former” Rothschild man in France would hardly have gone against the Rothschild position in London (where the MP Letwin, another “former” Rothschild man, has introduced bills in Parliament to delay Brexit discussions). Of course I am simplifying things, but I believe that this summarises a key part of the bigger picture.
