We might want to take a look at the works of Crane Brinton (1898-1968). Brinton was (and is) a very interesting and forgotten historian of France and of The History of Ideas.
Specifically his titles: The Jacobins, The Anatomy of Revolution, and Ideas and Men. A few of these are available gratis on archive.orgThe Basic Outline as given by Brinton in The Anatomy of Revolution
Phase One-Preliminary Stage Symptoms (The Old Order)
l. Economically weak – the government has deficits and must tax

I don’t have a copy either….wanted to thank you for sharing the information. I am a student of the history of ideas and appreciate posts like yours. My comment was perhaps the reason many of the global players children select a history major when acquiring higher knowledge is to learn and understand their adult role if they are exposed to books like Crane Brinton’s.
