The more appeals are made against such unwarranted (see the last monologue) acts, the less likely they will be issued (and sheriffs will be worried about getting re-elected). Especially if they are unwise enough to target organized groups such as churches.

Lived in Mississippi from 1996 to 1998….Greenville was a hot spot during civil rights drama. Theses folks learned, to challenge the social norms is scary but necessary for your freedom.
During the time I lived there I noticed the ever so subtle means of control embedded in the culture. Like the benevolence of those without a stable form of income bestowed on those who did when they were hired for menial tasks. One doesn’t bite the hand that feeds….like the situation almost everywhere today, except now it’s data entry, pushing bureaucract paperwork and such other tasks….
