I just turned on my computer and was greeted with the ‘Free’ offer from Microsoft to upgrade to Windows 10. Yeah, well…it’s not free.
This is about the 10’th time I have gotten this offer, does anyone know how to permanently deactivate this Special Offer from MS?

I’ve been getting the same thing and it’s driving me crazy too. I have just been closing it out, don’t know if it can be stopped from popping up unless maybe through firewall settings or something.
My husband says he got rid of it by going into the Updates Settings, via the Control Panel and changed some default settings. Nothing a lay person couldn’t do, although, it’s been many years since I’ve used anything Microsoft, so I can’t tell you exactly how to do it. But the hubby says he did a search on it and found out how to do it. Notice I did NOT say he “googled” it, ; -)
Thanks for the suggestion Jean. I think that did the trick. I went to ‘control panel’, then ‘System and Security’, then ‘Windows Update’ and I unchecked the ‘Update windows products’. That seems to do the trick.
Glad to be of help, ; -)
Trashed Windows 10 yesterday and now I’m back to Windows 7. Best decision I ever made. I highly recommend people run this script if you have any version of Windows post 7, as it will block a TON of privacy violation software/telemetry.
