I’m beginning to sense a seething anger in people around me. It is percolating just beneath what’s left of their civility. The resulting treatment of the people by tyrannical governments is beginning to bring out the worst in people. Even store clerks are beginning to act like tyrants. Eventually someone in authority will do something stupid, the dam will break, and that pent up anger will be released. This is not going to end well if it lasts much longer.

Yep me too, like the elephant in the room everyone sees but pretends not to see.
Unfortunately they have accepted the program to pretend it does not consciously consciously exist, so the idea remains suppressed and denied.
Subconsciously they know the truth, but due to conditioning are unable or willing to fight back. The double bind will boil with rage until it is released Sad sad sad.
The virus lie sirens are screaming in their minds, in my opinion.
I know it is in my mind…. time comes when civility and kindness is used by nefarious others to manipulate, conjole and imprison one, no more Mr. Nice Guy.

Having read rather extensively on theories of social control, and given that as Rahhmmi EM-MANUEL has been quoted as supporting: “Never let a good crisis go to waste” allow me to step off the end of the twig and offer the following speculation: My expectation is that the current set of restrictions will not be lifted until such time as the individuals who monitor such things, can determine exactly how far the POP-ULASHUN can be pushed before the “tea kettle” actually boils over. It’s a decidedly cynical reading of the variables, but I know quite well having read a lot of research papers, that everything gets measured, and everything gets modeled, and that there is absolutely NO aspect of HUE-MAN BEE-Haviour that does not get measured and modeled. I have more thoughts on this, but that’s enough I think.
Oh! Blake .. You’ve hit the nail on the head .. This is “some kind” of drill .. EVERY aspect of human existence is being tested and monitored / measured and modelled .. From new borns to the old aged .. emotionally .. financially .. spiritually .. economically .. behaviourally .. socially .. medically and every other way in between .. Great post Blake .. Thanks
… Freefall, I can’t help but notice that your list of measurements includes both things quantitative and qualitative. Maybe the consideration of the qualitative properties of reality was not one of the “assumptions” included in the modeling.
My doubt in respect of your idea is that there is no single “Mister Global” that can push buttons to make things happen everywhere without glitches, even in the USSA. This is even more the case in Europe and indeed in places like India (population 1.3 billion) where national and other oligarchies have not fully bought into dystopian aim of certain parties mainly based in North America.
I guess it depends on where a person lives. Everything has been pretty normal where I live and most people I’ve heard from don’t believe it anyway…but then again I live in small town amerika, so that may explain it.
I rarely log into Facebook but lately, I’ve logged in once a week or so, to check the general vibe.
I live in Nebraska, which is considered to be relatively “normal” (if that’s even a thing anymore). I think people are all over the place as far as I can see. Some people are perfectly compliant with how they’re handling the virus, others are freaking out because our Governor is considering opening it all back up (with caveats of course). From what I can gather, there are many camps with two amongst the largest a) comparing it all to the flu and rolling their eyes at the restrictions and b) drinking the kool-aid and believing whatever their choice in polarized media tells them. I’m still working, so I get to be a fly on the wall while listening to the Average Joe discuss the issues at hand. Sadly, the bulk of the scuttlebutt could be drilled down to a basic form of left vs. right. Lost in the sauce, as usual for Joe Public.
