Sheldrake and Vernon are an excellent antidote to the uncontrolled emotions all-too-often arising from the present “situation”. Sheldrake opportunely reminds us that whatever happens and whatever the apparent limitations, we are “spiritual” beings on a mysterious and fascinating path. For example he has a conversation on the apparently banal phenomenon of knowing who is calling when the phone rings. If this phenomenon is real – most will confirm that it is – many of the “hardware”- based control mechanisms often discussed by us will, in the end, be shown to be quite insignificant compared to the potential of intentionality.
