They had a hit song that rang in my mind today about face masks….

Well, there is one song writer I don’t miss. Mister Natural.
Forgetting the artistic merit of Neil Diamond’s appeal, that’s without question dubious,the metaphor in the lyrics I find ironic, particularly with today’s mania about wearing face masks and anti-religious believers.
Point well taken. Given that the Monkeys were actors and not actual musicians or singers, I admit the whole lyrics and “group” are a perfect metaphor!
Agree, that’s what I thought…strange how those things stick in our mind after so many years of exposure…mind control?

That’s it! I even had the Doors albums in my record collection and sometimes watched the Monkeys television show, though at the time the silliness made no sense to me. The Laurel Canyon gang was in full swing during my teenage years.
