Just what I needed to get away from the screen and just listen.
Published in 1973: “On Sept. 11th, 2077, a dazzling fireball…”
Yeah a lot of recently read “fiction” comes to my mind these days, as I look around me. Arthur C. Clark’s Childhood’s End comes to mind…or more eerily Madeleine L’Engle truly cosmic – A Wrinkle in Time, where the world is being surrounded by the “Black Thing”…sometimes I wonder if I have not been transported to the planet Camazotz, where that dystopian world has succumbed entirely to The “Black Thing” entity surrounding the planet and everyone acts exactly the same, like mindless automaton’s.
As Richard C Hoagland would say “What did Arthur C Clarke know and when did he know it”, he knew a lot, but where did he get it from, that is the question.
Indeed, DUET, that is the question.
