Wonder where they are going to get the money for this idiocy. Last I heard, the state was pretty much bankrupt, can’t keep the lights on, anarchists are running wild, it’s an open toilet, and is on fire.

The 1% of the 1% are taking everything away not just our dignity! Sad part, so many people are bewitched and go for it.
The loss of dignity and inability to strive in the US has nothing to do with slavery; it has everything to do with rewarding single parents, primarily mothers, by paying for children as long as they were without a spouse. I know plenty of people, all colors, who took advantage of this benefit. Some of them actually had the “other” parent present and still got paid. What it did for the Black community, however, was to leave children without a father so that deliquency, drugs, gangs, etc. was often the only avenue for these children. There are too many examples of successful Blacks who came from these poor neighborhoods but from parents who pushed them and did not allow the children to become criminals to now blame it on slavery. Blame the politicians (R&D) who allowed this social inequity to continue for so long.
CAF red button story came to my mind and that is a world wide problem! The 1% eggs it on and sadly many fall for it.
What about Irish slaves (euphemistically called “indentured servants”)?
There is no king/queen who has not had a slave among his/her ancestors, and no slave who has not had a king/queen among his/hers.

Dana, you are so right. What about the American Indian and free black slaveholders. And on and on. Reparations is more divisionist strategy.
Many years ago we were touring an antebellum plantation near New Orleans. The tour guide pointed out the beautiful cypress wood and told us it was gathered from the swamps by the Irish indentured servants. With swamps full of gators and snakes, the wood-gathering was too dangerous to risk the black slaves so the less valuable indentured servants were assigned the job.
